And please give details- such as how hard you worked, if you%26#039;re naturally gifted in math, etc.
I%26#039;m at the top of my class in every math course, and I decided to take calc. If I did good in it, I would consider accounting, but I%26#039;m struggling, so I was wondering how other people feel about it. Also, my teacher, and not to blame it on her, but she knows what she%26#039;s talking about but really doesn%26#039;t relay things well. I often have to go back and re-teach myself things she taught.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? As you know there are different kinds of math. If you are good at conceptualizing math, that is you understand what you are doing, then you should do fine in calculus. If you have been traditionally one of the students that memorized the steps necessary for completing each type of problem, aka - Turning the Crank, then you might find Calculus a little more difficult.
When in high school I was much like you, I always could do well in math classes. However, I was lucky and could usually do math by devising my own strategy rather than using the method the book suggested. That is a mark of someone who conceptualizes math.
Another point is that some math books that are commonly accepted for school use are horrible in some of the methods they teach. They subscribe to the %26quot;Turn the Crank%26quot; method. Or just memorize all these steps and you will be fine. It is possible that you simply have a bad book.
Here is a book that I think was very useful to me in college calculus A and B. There is an additional book for C.

Calculus is probably a 5 out of 10 class.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? I can calc you waist size in 10 years... 10?
With business applications - oh by the way it builds on Algebra ...
or comes after Algebra.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? if you are top of the class, u wont have a problem, but I would rate it a 8.
If you were the type of girl that think Paris hilton is a role model, you would be in big trouble.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? Whether you did %26quot;good%26quot; or %26quot;well%26quot; in it would have no bearing on your accounting skills. You don%26#039;t use calculus much, if at all, in accounting.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? Honestly I am pretty horrible when it comes to math I when I took in in College I got a A-.
I thought it was a lot easier than trig and geometry.
I%26#039;d say maybe a 3 out of ten, and if you need a graphing calc I got one for ya.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? i was not naturally gifted.but i had a passion for the subject.that helped in overcoming the lack of natural talent.so if you really desire to learn i would say calculus is very easy provided your basics are strong.go back to the basics if you are facing difficulty in dealing with calculus
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? If you are that bright you will not have any problem with calculus is like a logic if you follow it you will definately scale through. Something with maths or other subject you find out that you are good in a particular section but poor in the other. i will rate calculus as simple but may be difficult for you my only problem in mathematics is statistic which may be the simplest for some people
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? i wouldn%26#039;t say i am naturally gifted with math but i just love the hard sciences so I really spent a lot of time understanding calc. I would say for the average person who does not care much for math, calc. is a 10. For someone who wants to learn it, it is probably close to a 2 because all of it makes so much sense
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? Calculus is much harder than the math that comes before it. It deals with things that are infinitesimally small and infinitely large. Yes, you will probably have to work much harder than in prior math. However, it is not the hardest subject in the world.
Besides, many subjects have calculus as a prerequisite. For example, there are elementary statisitcs courses without calculus as a prereq, but the more serious stat course has calculus as a prereq. You can%26#039;t do much in stat without the calculus.
Nothing wrong with having to go back and re-teach yourself things. In fact, this is a good skill to develop.
I don%26#039;t understand your statement, %26quot;If I did good in it, I would consider accounting.%26quot; Calculus and accounting have no relationship with each other.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? Answer: 10
Given your performances in your previous Mathematics courses you will have no problem with Calculus. You need to solve and solve and solve all the problems in the textbook to hone your skills in Calculus.
Calculus is for Engineering as Arithmetic is for Accounting!
Anyway, that is how I did it when I was in college.
Remember:
Solve, Solve, and Solve!
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? It really depends on what level of calculus, as basic calculus is realtively easy (i.e for people still in school) to pick but will get complicated later on (i.e in university). I would rate it a 5.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? I took Calculus in high school %26amp; three other calc classes in college (math minor). My high school Calc teacher was fantastic, but my college professor was, like your teacher, difficult to understand at times. Regardless, I didn%26#039;t find any of the classes to be exceptionally hard, but I got out of each of them what I put in. If I paid attention and studied, I got an A; paid attention, didn%26#039;t study, I got a C.
As far as Accounting goes (which is what I do now), basic math skills, perhaps no more than Algebra, is all that is required. If you want to go into Accounting, I think a class based on probability and statistics might do you more good than Calculus. Of course, taking lots of Accounting classes will allow you to apply the mathematics skills in the correct way.
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? 4/10. Calculus is not very hard if you keep studying as you go on (doing exercises). In this, it is not much different from other math classes. It is cumulative, with things always based on previus knowledge. I admit that I have somewhat a capacity for math, though I would not say I%26#039;m gifted.
Now, how you do in a math class is very dependent on you teacher, so make sure you choose one that knows his stuff and knows how to communicate it (if you have a choice).
Have you taken calculus? How hard would you rate it on a scale from 1 to 10? I usually got 80+% in math, and I found it very hard to get into calculus (offered in Grade 12). Once I %26quot;got it%26quot;, it was actually fun.
I remember knowing how fast water is rising at any given point in time when it is poured at an decelerating or accelerating rate into a giant cone.
That was 17 years ago; I have forgotten almost everything about calculus.
